Seth Gibson: Ambassador Spotlight

4 minute read

Meet STAMINAPRO Ambassador Seth Gibson. While he’s a lifelong martial arts connoisseur and fitness instructor, he has also spent more than two decades in the tech industry!

Training improved my life in such a positive manner. And as a coach, being able to help people get on that journey themselves is the most rewarding thing.”

Tell us a bit about yourself.

I'm currently living in Salt Lake City, UT and I'm a technology consultant for manufacturing aerospace and automotive companies.

As far as athletic pursuits, I’m a personal trainer and a lifelong martial artist. I started doing martial arts since I was four. Currently, I'm a competing Jujitsu master or executive depending on what fed you're competing under — basically ‘old man Jujitsu’. I also actively practice Filipino martial arts and Capoeira, which some people call Brazilian breakdance fighting.

How did you get into martial arts?

Well I have to blame my parents. I'm a military brat. My dad was in the Air Force for 20 years, so we moved every couple of years. My parents liked to make sure that we got into activities just to meet people and broaden our horizons, so I played a lot of Pee Wee Sports growing up. But, martial arts ended up being the thing I really gravitated towards.

As I got older and started trying other things, martial arts was really the only thing that I always kept doing. I tried swimming and track during high school, but I always came back to martial arts. It's the main reason I got into personal training and fitness.

What got you into fitness training?

The interesting thing about working in the tech industry is that lots of companies have really cool perks like gym memberships or a gym right in the office.

At the time, I was working in video games — I'd go over to the gym that was right across from our office at lunch and train everyday. At one point, a bunch of guys that I worked with were touring the gym and they saw me working out. They came over afterwards and said “Hey, you obviously know what you're doing, would you mind training us?”

That's when I started getting into writing programs for people. It's really neat because here we are 15 years later and I still get emails or tagged in posts from some of these guys saying “ Hey, I hit a deadlift PR!”

Now I've probably been to almost 100 different continuing ed courses over the span of about six or seven years.

What’s a fun fact about you?

I've actually worked on a lot of video games that a lot of people have probably played like Tomb Raider, Halo, and League of Legends. I'm also an artist. I like to draw, paint and sculpt. I actually wanted to work for Disney as an animator but I ended up with video games instead. I still do a lot of work in Photoshop and software like the ZBrush and Blender to do digital sculpting and digital paintings. I enjoy writing music as well.

Technology just enables so much cool stuff. It makes things like fitness, art, and creativity accessible to so many people.

Why has STAMINAPRO remained a staple in your routine?

When you're training, anything that helps with your recovery is gold. When it works as well as STAMINAPRO patches do, you're just like, this is it. It's just such a great product, you put it on and you get results right away.
