Tony Finau's debut at the Masters in April 2018 was the realization of a long-standing dream, and it began with a promising start: enjoying the historic venue, taking in the excitement that comes with the first major of the year, and practicing rounds with other pros. Tony’s dream continued into Wednesday with the famed Par 3 Contest, a tradition that draws much attention prior to the actual tournament. On the 7th hole with a full crowd watching and his family in tow, Tony’s tee shot landed on the green and spun back towards the hole, rolling in for an ace.
Then, as Tony ran down the fairway in celebration, it happened. Tony’s left ankle abruptly gave way to a gruesome dislocation, immediately taking him to the ground. In a combination of awe, shock, and collectedness, Tony proceeded to place his ankle joint back into place. Doing his best to keep it cool and walk off the fall, he continued to play but immediately after completing the last two holes, Tony’s trainer wrapped his ankle with multiple STAMINAPRO patches.
“The pain was 10 out of 10 on the Thursday morning, and I thought my chances of playing were pretty much gone.”
The true test would come the following day, fortunately for Tony, his tee time wasn’t until the afternoon, giving him time to run additional tests and get treatment. After the medical results came back clear, Tony and his team knew the choice to play was now up to Tony.
“I couldn’t walk or put any weight on my left foot. In retrospect, I can’t imagine how much worse it would have been if my ankle wasn’t covered in STAMINAPRO patches.”
At that time, STAMINAPRO Patches were a revolutionary, yet new product in the sports and athletic world. Fortunately for Tony, his team was already familiar with STAMINAPRO’s unique ability to reduce inflammation. Tony’s trainer, Dr. Stuart Love, along with several other trainers on the tour had been working with STAMINAPRO over the prior year.
Tony wore STAMINAPRO patches for the remainder of the tournament to drastically reduce the pain and to keep the inflammation down, allowing him to focus on play over pain as much as possible. STAMINAPRO patches last for up to 24 hours, and can be used proactively before activity to reduce inflammation caused by exertion or after activity to target any incoming swelling or muscle pain. So for Tony, STAMINAPRO was an ideal product that he could wear each day he competed.
“Honestly, I don’t know how I did it. The pain level was way worse when the patches were off and I don’t think people realize how much of a difference they can make. I had three STAMINAPRO patches around my foot and two up my Achilles.”

Going Forward
Now Tony won’t leave home without his STAMINAPRO patches. “STAMINAPRO patches shined bright for me during my craziest week on a golf course and they just flat-out worked,” said Tony. Many thought it was a miracle that Tony was even able to play, not to mention shoot 68 on the first day and be at the top of the leaderboard at one point. On Sunday, he finished with a blistering streak of six straight birdies to remarkably secure a top-10 finish and a guaranteed invite to the 2019 tournament.
His praise of STAMINAPRO continues: “I’m a big believer in STAMINAPRO, it really keeps the soreness and inflammation down. I feel different when it’s not on my ankle.” The extraordinary set of circumstances has catapulted STAMINAPRO and its Active Recovery Patches into the market and to rapidly becoming a trusted name amongst athletes, trainers and doctors.
